DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Rating

I am super excited about now’s review since I’ll be taking a look at one of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.

This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils to get a sleeping experience that promises to be lavish as it’s supportive.

To see how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what type of sleeper could benefit from it most.

Read below for my entire review of this DreamCloud mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress RatingDreamcloud-mattress-top

CONSTRUCTION

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile to get a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.

Given all the different materials at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact together.

Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. It is also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.

Foam Layers: Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. When these sections are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress.

The center of these three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these small ventilations supports even more cooling.

Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which can be composed of a pocketed coil system.

These individually wrapped springs give that the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the construction.

The coils also aid in controlling temperatures as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.

Foundation Layer: A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with all the most important function of cradling the pocketed coils and supplying a sound base for the entire.

FIRMNESS

After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat concerning the firmness and feel .

I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of this quilted cover and top layers.

My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to socialize with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nicelift from springs.

At this time I’d love to note that people of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness differently.

As opposed to giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion as well.

DreamCloud-Firmness-Test

I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a good mattress.

As you will feel some little sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Rating

PRESSURE MAP

Instead of simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud into you, I wished to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it.

To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the effects on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

DreamCloud-Pressure-Map

Back: Once in my back, my weight was evenly dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking to the mattress at all .

The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.

Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks.

However, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.

Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress , which is key for stomach sleepers.

I must mention that I was able to transition across these positions with comparative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Rating

THE MATTRESS WITH A 365 NIGHT TRIAL & FOREVER WARRANTY

If you plan on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will wish to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around in night.

This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of movement that is detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.

To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance. Dreamcloud-Motion-Transfer-test

The DreamCloud shows a bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress .

While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I’d nevertheless look at the mattress to be fairly good at isolating movement , thanks to its individually wrapped coils.

This usually means you’re improbable to be overly disturbed by your bed spouse’s midnight shimmies, making this a great alternative for couples.

When purchasing a new mattress , many people wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”to” the mattress or putting “on top” of it.

To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.

The variations in size, density and weight are intended to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.

  • 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
  • 50 lb medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.

While you are likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.

This combo will appeal to a broad range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers especially . Dreamcloud Mattress Rating

If you’re likely to share your bed with a partner and wish to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it’s likely to be crucial for you to think about the quantity of border support it will provide.

I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to meet the border support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying on my spine, I felt supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the center.

Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a small compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing too spectacular. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under.

This system, along with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.

Comfort and Support

Two of the most important things when choosing a mattress, are comfort and support.

After all, you plan to spend years on this mattress every night.

There are a number of things which should take place when you lie down.

You want the sinkage and shape to be right, for proper spine alignment.

You also need a mattress to properly support your body, as you sleep at night.

It is critical to have proper alignment from top to bottom as you sleep.

This is necessary to be sure you receive a healthy rest, and to make sure you’re reducing your neck and back pain.

While being supportive of your own body, a suitable mattress has to provide stress relief.

The stress points in your body are precisely what is in control of you thrashing during the evening.

Memory Foam mattresses have earned their way into the spotlight, by not only being comfortable, but as equally supportive.

Should You Choose Firm or Soft?

This is along the same lines, as when we talk about comfort and support.

Just like a mattress shouldn’t be too hard, it should never be too soft.

A mattress should be as neutral as it can be, to ensure both your body and spine stay in a neutral position.

Too much rigidity in a mattress will irritate the stress variables, making pinched nerves, in addition to the blood to stop flowing.

If you find that a lot of the times you awake, with the sensation of having pins and needles in your body, this is a sign of a mattress that is too rigid.

And if your mattress is too soft, this can create a sagging effect, similar to a hammock.

When this happens, you can find yourself with back pain, due to your spine not being correctly aligned.

This is why it’s imperative to find a mattress that is close to neutral.

You need your mattress soft in the right places, without being too soft.

But you also need your mattress to be supportive, without being overly rigid.

Temperature Level

One of the most commonly looked over attributes of a mattress is the breathability, or fever neutrality of the mattress material.

Possibly the most effective attribute of memory foam mattresses now, is their capacity to be able to conform to your body.

Irregardless, foam mattresses which have diminished layers are well known to cause what’s known as”the oven result”.

Essentially, a mattress catches your temperature, forcing one to rest also hot.

Most mattress companies nowadays use modern technologies, to make special materials.

Mattress companies want their mattress designed to sleep cool, but also provide warmth where it should, and also provide breathability.

Some companies do a much better job at this than their competitors. Black

Durability

It’s not a huge surprise, that if you’re in the market for a high quality mattress, it normally comes with a nice price tag.

It’s a big investment to make, so when you purchase one, it’s vital to find a mattress that will certainly last you for years.

It is crucial to find a mattress that’s been well developed, with a lifetime span in mind.

If you are looking to buy a mattress, be sure to choose one that has a warranty of at least 10 years.

Several brands now offer a Lifetime warranty, and a sleep trial as long as 18 months.
