DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Topper Cooling
I’m super excited about now’s review since I’ll be having a look at a few of this newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.Dreamcloud Mattress Topper Cooling
This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be lavish as it is supportive.
To determine how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall relaxation and ascertain what type of sleeper would benefit from it .
Read below for my entire review of this DreamCloud mattress.
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components , which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is written of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It is also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. When these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so that you won’t feel trapped at the mattress.
The center of those three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these miniature ventilations supports even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs provide that the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also help in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies in the bottom of the mattress, with all the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the whole.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s speak concerning the firmness and texture.
My hands sunk to the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to socialize with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
At this stage I’d love to note that people of different body shapes and types will feel firmness otherwise.
Rather than giving just my view on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion also.
I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remaining testers that it is definitely a good bed.
While you’ll feel some small sinking out of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Topper Cooling
Rather than simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud into you, I wished to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it.
To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy.
Back: After in my spine, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking to the bed whatsoever.
The quilted cover supplied quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to sense pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks .
However, I nevertheless felt invited and the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I must mention that I handled to transition across these positions with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Topper Cooling
Should you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will want to learn what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the night.
This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud indicates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the contrary side of the mattress.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I’d nevertheless consider the mattress to be fairly good at isolating movement , as a consequence of the individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re improbable to be overly disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
If purchasing a new mattress, many people wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”into ” the mattress or placing”on top” of it.
To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you are likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Dreamcloud Mattress Topper Cooling
If you are likely to share your bed with a spouse and wish to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of border support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to meet the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying on my back, I sensed as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle .
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing overly spectacular. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system under.
This system, collectively with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight. A good deal of foam mattresses experience intense compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
