DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Ethereal
I am super excited about today’s review since I’ll be taking check out a couple of of this newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To watch how nicely this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and ascertain what sort of sleeper could benefit from it most.
Read on below for my full review of the DreamCloud mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Ethereal
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile to get a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts , which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different substances at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers: beneath the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While those sections are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress.
The middle of those three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these small ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is written of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also help in controlling temperatures as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies in the bottom of the mattress, with all the most important use of cradling the pocketed coils and supplying a sound foundation for the entire.
After with a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk concerning the firmness and texture .
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk to the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nicelift from the springs.
At this stage I’d like to remember that people of distinct body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise.
Rather than giving just my view on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three others to give their view also.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the staying testers that it’s definitely a strong bed.
While you will feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Ethereal
Rather than simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud into you, I wished to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points contour while lying on it.
To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and tummy.
Back: After in my back, my weight was evenly dispersed during the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the mattress whatsoever .
The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks.
However, I felt encouraged and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach: Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress , which is key for stomach sleepers.
I if mention that I handled to transition across these places with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Ethereal
If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll wish to learn what it will feel like when the other person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night.
This second test is intended to demonstrate that the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to another.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud indicates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a consequence of its individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress spouse’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new bed, many people wish to know whether they will feel like they are sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it.
To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you are going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit on the wrapped coils and texture fantastic support.
This combo will appeal to a broad range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers especially . Dreamcloud Mattress Ethereal
If you are going to share your bed with a spouse and wish to use the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of border support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which neglect to live up to the border support of more conventional innerspring models.Lying in my back, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the center.
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a small compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system below.
This system, together with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
